Hello! Welcome to my first blog post. I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Expressive Self Psychotherapy, a new therapy service based in Beeston, Nottingham and online! Whether you prefer the comfort of in-person sessions or the flexibility of online therapy, I’m here to provide a safe, supportive space to help you navigate life’s challenges.
Introducing Expressive Self Psychotherapy
Expressive Self was born from my vision of a service that truly meets you where you are. I wanted to create a therapy space where the focus is on creating the conditions and providing the environment for you to really access what you need from therapy, and express that need in the space. Having trained in a creative form of psychotherapy and a more traditional psychological therapy I felt strongly that there should be an overlap, a place where they meet and a coming together. And thus, Expressive Self Psychotherapy was born. I love what I do, and I feel that passion shines through in Expressive Self. The door is open, come on in!
At Expressive Self, I draw from Dramatherapy and CBT, blending these methods through an integrative approach that’s tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re processing trauma, managing anxiety, or seeking clarity, I’m here to guide and support you.

What Makes Us Unique?
Creative Meets Cognitive:
Dramatherapy provides a way to explore emotions and memories that words alone can’t reach, while CBT offers practical tools and strategies to address patterns of thought and behaviour when we feel stuck. Together, they create a powerful path to healing. Having a mind-body approach enables us to address all aspects of the self, fostering holistic healing. Our thoughts, emotions and physical well-being are deeply intertwined and focussing on this connection in therapy can help us to become more attuned to our internal world.
Flexible Options:
Located in Beeston, I offer in-person sessions for clients across Nottingham and beyond. Prefer online therapy? You can access the same compassionate care from the comfort of your home. I offer individual and group therapy.
Trauma-Informed Care:
I approach therapy with a trauma-informed lens, recognising how past experiences shape our well-being and working with you to rebuild a sense of safety and control.

Why Choose Dramatherapy or CBT?
Dramatherapy:
If you’ve ever felt that words aren’t enough to express what’s inside, Dramatherapy might be the perfect fit. Using tools like storytelling, metaphor, art, and movement, it creates a space where the subconscious can come to light, fostering deep healing and self-discovery.
CBT:
For those looking for a more structured, evidence-based approach, CBT helps tackle issues like Anxiety, OCD, and PTSD by reshaping unhelpful thought patterns. It’s practical, empowering, and focused on tangible results.
Integrative Approach in Nottingham and Online
Every individual is unique, which is why I also offer an integrative approach to therapy. By combining techniques from dramatherapy, CBT, and other therapeutic models, personalised support tailored to your specific needs and goals is offered.
Group Dramatherapy in Nottingham
For those who thrive in shared experiences, I’m also excited to offer group Dramatherapy sessions at Expressive Self. Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to connect with others who may be navigating similar challenges, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding. Working in a group can help you feel less alone, learn from others and experience collective healing.
Group therapy is especially beneficial for those dealing with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, or feelings of isolation. Each session is carefully facilitated to ensure every participant feels safe and respected, creating an atmosphere of trust and mutual support.
